The police in Rostov region detained a suspect of kidnapping Dasha Popova

The police personnel in Rostov region detained a resident of the town of Aksai for suspicion of kidnapping an eight-year-old Dasha Popova who disappeared eight days ago and was found today.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that the girl disappeared on September, 19. She called at the entrance door intercom but did not reach the flat. Today she was found. According to preliminary data, a local resident kidnapped her for the purpose of ransom.

Eyewitnesses reported to the police that a man with a little girl looking like Dasha came to "Almaz" market in Rostov-on-Don.

An operative group immediately went to the scene, the suspect tried to escape but was detained already half an hour later.

The man took the girl right from the entrance of the house and was planning to contact the child's parents to demand ransom for her release.

The medics and psychologists are currently working with the girl and her mother is with her. According to preliminary information, her health is out of danger, web-site of Chief Directorate of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Russian Federation in Rostov region reports.

According to Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation (CIR), the detainee turned out to be businessman Alexander Maximov born in 1955. Official representative of CIR Vladimir Markin reported that the abductor's ex-lover helped to find and watch him promptly by reporting to the police that she saw the girl in the trunk of the malefactor's car, "Interfax" reports.

It should be mentioned that in connection with the child's disappearance the investigators earlier initiated a criminal case according to clause "murder" and the girl's relatives promised a reward of one million rubles for reliable information of her location, RIA "Novosti" reports.
