Vladikavkaz hosts rally against growth of utility tariffs
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, the rally held in Vladikavkaz by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) within the All-Russian protest action was attended by about 300 people.
Kazbek Taisaev, a Russian MP and First Secretary of the North-Ossetian Republic's Committee of the CPRF, has criticized the authorities' policy in the social sphere and in tariff regulation, as well as the decision to join the WTO.
Marat Muzaev, the CPRF Secretary for Ideology and a candidate for the republic's parliament in a one-candidate constituency, has shown a pack of utility bills to the audience and compared them with the death notices, received by relatives of perished soldiers during the Great Patriotic War.
"This shameful policy of the authorities deprives our young people of a chance to create families. Given the extremely high unemployment level, they will be practically unable to pay their utility bills, which grow every year rising," said Muzaev.
The participants of the rally adopted a resolution condemning the policy of the authorities aimed at further increase of utility tariffs and prices on essential commodities and foodstuffs.
