Rally against increase of utility rates and salary arrears held in Volgograd
Today, around 100 people took part in a rally against rising utility rates and salary debts to workers of the Volgograd Shipyard.
The rally was coordinated with the administration of Volgograd; and 200 participants had been applied for, Andrei Belyavskov, First Secretary of the Krasnoarmeiskiy District Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The action took place in the Krasnoarmeiskiy District, in the square at the former cinema "Yubileiny". The audience included shipyard workers who said they had not been paid since February. At the same time, they noted that over the past two years the shipyard changed its top managers for nine times.
The rally was addressed by the current shipyard manager Vadim Sobko, who noted that he had been working there since February 1, and "had heard a lot of angry words." "I've earned here nothing but gray hair so far," he said. According to his story, salaries are paid, although "stridently".
