At the trial of journalist Kravchenko claimant rejects reconciliation

Today, the magistrate judicial precinct No. 103 of the Tsentralny District of Sochi has indefinitely postponed the consideration of the claim lodged by Vladimir Krivosheev, an employee of the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "CHOP-REGION-3" (CHOP means a private security company) against Svetlana Kravchenko, the regional correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot".

Let us remind you that the claimant asserts that the journalist beat him and demands to bring her to justice under Article 116 of the Russian Criminal Code "Battery", which provides for a fine, corrective work or arrest for up to three months. On August 7, the court did not consider the claim because of the self-withdrawal of Judge Alexander Skorokhodov.

According to the participants of the today's session, it lasted for no more than half an hour. Judge Kalustova invited the parties to reconcile at any stage of the trial; however, Krivosheev refused to do it, said Svetlana Kravchenko.

The parties filed motions to request written evidence on the case. Krivosheev asked to make a request to the Kuban State University on whether it Svetlana Kravchenko had really graduated therefrom. In her turn, Kravchenko moved a motion to request the documents confirming Krivosheev's authorities.

Both parties' motions were satisfied. "At the same time, steps are taken to request new evidence," says the ruling of Magistrate Judge Katerina Kalustova.

When passing the ruling, the judge was impartial, said the journalist's advocate Anatoly Eroshenko. "It is difficult to speak of any judge's partiality, when both parties' motions are satisfied. The date of the next session hasn't been appointed yet. But this is clear: I think the judge will appoint it only once she has the requested papers in her hands," said the lawyer.
