In Sochi, court fines civil society activists, detained in Kudepsta

Today, the magistrate court of the Adler District of Sochi fined 1000 roubles each of two activists of the youth branch of the "Yabloko" Party and the project "Occupy Kuban", who were earlier detained in Kudepsta on charges of disobeying police officers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Kirill Goncharov, the leader of the youth branch of the "Yabloko" Party, and activist Tatiana Romanova, participants of the project "Occupy Kuban", both of whom came from Moscow, were detained during the dispersal of the camp in the territory of the Kudepsta Thermal Power Plant (TPP).

"Kirill Goncharov was detained by police officers, when he refused to call on his activists to leave the territory, in which their presence was absolutely legal. Tatiana Romanova was detained just for the fact that he tried to express her protest against the decision of the police officers to deliver Kirill Goncharov to the local OVD (Interior Division), where, later, they both spent four hours, being kept in a ward of pre-trial detention. The detainees were released late in the evening after completing of the protocols of administrative violations and presenting the summons to the court," said a source in the "Yabloko" Party.

According to the police version, Kirill Goncharov and Tatiana Romanova have committed an offence under Article 19.03 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Disobedience to lawful order or request of a police officer".

Today, the court hearing was held in the magistrate court of the Adler District of Sochi. The judge did not consider the merits of the case and made the decision during several minutes. He recognized the activists guilty and fined 1000 roubles each of them. According to the press service of the "Yabloko" Party, the lawyers of the Party intend to challenge the decision of the Adler Court at a higher instance.

Today, the activists of the protest opposition camp "Occupy Kuban" went from Sochi to Krasnodar.
