A trial on the case of murder of military doctor Vage Avetyan deferred till September, 24

A trial on the case of murder of a military doctor in "Arsankar" restaurant that started in Armenia on September, 13, was deferred till September, 24, because of the absence of the defendant's attorney Aram Khachatryan, representatives of the court of general jurisdiction Avan and Nor Nork reported.

The session of September, 13, was held under the chairmanship of judge David Arutiunyan. The court resolved that after the trial of September, 24, all the next hearings would be held every Wednesday.

During the session activists of a pressure group "Vage Avetyan" created on Facebook network organized a picket in front of the building of the court demanding justice.

The activists who were present at the hearings declared that "in spite of the fact that the session was declared open the microphones in the courtroom were switched off and one could not hear anything".

We will remind that on August, 24, Chief Investigative Police Directorate of Armenia presented the details of the incident in "Arsankar" restaurant. According to the investigation, the quarrel between the personnel of the restaurant and the military doctors flared up after the waiter's reproof concerning Avetyan's clothing.

The attorneys of the successor of military doctor Vage Avetyan, in their turn, stated that there were obstacles in the their work and violations in the case initiated by Chief Investigative Police Directorate of Armenia on the fact of his death.
