Committee of Inquiry: the shells got into the school territory in Buinaksk by error

In process of shelling carried out within the framework of a special operation on search of gunmen in Buinaksk district an error occurred and the shells got into the territory of boarding school No 3, Press Service of Chief Military Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of Russia reported.

Representatives of Committee of Inquiry informed that an inspection established: from September, 5, a counter-terrorist operation regime was enacted in Buinaksk district of the Republic of Dagestan for detection of members of paramilitary groups upon a decision of Head of Operation Headquarters. Servicemen of military unit No 63354 were called for participation in the special operation.

"At 5:20, September, 13, 2012, during transfer of command to a commander of a mortar, platoon commander mixed up the main direction of fire which resulted in a 800 meters change of direction of shooting. As a result, three 120 millimeter caliber trench mortar mines exploded in the territory of boarding school No 3 of Buinaksk, Republic of Dagestan. There are no victims but a material damage in form of high-voltage cable fault and broken window glasses was inflicted", a report of the web-site of Chief Military Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of Russia runs.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated non-involvement of the military in the two explosions in the territory of the boarding school in Buinaksk.
