Department of Federal Penal Service: there is no information of a hunger strike of resident of Dagestan Arthur Khanaliev in the penal colony of Lipetsk region

Administration of correctional facility No 3 in Lipetsk district confirmed that convict Arthur Khanaliev from Dagestan who declared his intention of going on a hunger strike on September, 9, was placed in a disciplinary cell. There is no information of the prisoner's hunger strike, Vladimir Lyaliuk, Head of Press Service of Department of Federal Penal Service of Russia in Lipetsk region, reported.

"On September, 11, I contacted the Administration of penal colony No 3 on the phone. According to the data available, on September, 10, convict Arthur Khanaliev was really moved to a disciplinary cell, however, the information of his going on a hunger strike is not corroborated. Khanaliev meals. Moreover, the reason for moving the convict to a disciplinary cell is that he violated internal regulations", Head of Press Service of Department of Federal Penal Service of Russia in Lipetsk region Vladimir Lyaliuk said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, the violations that resulted in punishment are "in no way connected with practicing religious rites of Islam".

According to the convict's attorney Abdurahman Abdurahmanov, on September, 10, the prisoner was placed into a lockup, therefore "nobody knows whether he is holding a hunger strike or not because there are no contacts with him".
