French producer Vincent Moon started shooting a film about the Adyg folk music
French producer Vincent Moon who is shooting a full-length film "Circassia" devoted to the Adygs' authentic music arrived in Kabardino-Balkaria.
The producer gave an audition to Euaz Zuber, improvisator and performer of Adyg ethnic music, who played folk songs and tunes with shikapshin, a stringed bow musical instrument, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Earlier the producer shot films in Maikop where he stayed with Zamudin Guchev, master of Adyg ethnic musical instruments.
"Today the Circassian music is not an integral part of the Adygs' everyday life, therefore one of the goals of the project was to show that one should not admire this wonderful but remote and lifeless past but live in the sacral atmosphere of folk music", Vincent Moon declared.
The project is a non-commercial one and will be financed by the producer himself with the help of voluntary contributions, eLot.ru reports.
Besides filming, the producer is planning his own film shows, master-classes and conferences.
At 17:00, September, 7, a show of the producer's short films will be held in "Forum" state concert hall. The author will be present there, comment on the films and answer the spectators' questions.
Three films by this producer were earlier shown in Nalchik.
