Marifa Lyanova: during two weeks, 13 PPS policemen of Ingush MIA were lost

During the last two weeks, 13 policemen of the patrol-and-post service (PPS) of the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) were killed and 20 more were wounded. This was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Marifa Lyanova, the head of personnel of the separate regiment for the protection of the administrative boundaries of the MIA in the Republic of Ingushetia. She has noted that it is the first time when she faces such losses in the ranks of policemen during her 20-year-employment at the regiment.

The police official also spoke of some details of the attack on the automobile convoy of the separate regiment for the protection of the administrative boundaries of the MIA in the Republic of Ingushetia, which was committed on September 5.

"It occurred about 2 kilometres at the entrance to the village of Dattykh. It is likely that at first, one vehicle was blown up by a land mine planted at the wayside, and it blocked the way for other vehicles. And then, a shelling of the policemen was opened from the forest," said the head of personnel of the separate regiment with reference to eyewitnesses.

As a result of the shelling, four police officers died in the place from shrapnel and gunshot wounds. Three police officers were seriously wounded. Two police officers died on the way to hospital.

According to Marifa Lyanova, four more staff members of the patrol-and-post service, who were in the automobile convoy, attacked by militants, were hospitalized today to the Malgobek Central Hospital with closed craniocerebral traumas and brain concussion.
