Murat Abazov kidnapped in Kabardino-Balkaria is released, his relatives report

Murat Abazov kidnapped together with his cousin Arthur Abazov in the settlement of Dygulybgey, Baksan district of Kabardino-Balkaria, is released, his father Edward Abazov reported. Arthur is still kept in Baksan district Department of Interior Affairs where he is being interrogated about participation in an assault at law enforcement personnel.

At night of August, 23, Murat Abazov was released, a report of “Memorial” Human Rights Center received by the “Caucasian Knot” runs.

According to Edward Abazov, he found his son in the road at the entrance of the town of Baksan were he was incidentally passing in his car. Murat said that he was brought to Baksan district Department of Interior Affairs. There the personnel put a plastic bag on his head and beat him up. Murat knows nothing about his cousin Arthur’s fate.

Edward Abazov said that his son was very much frightened and did not wish to submit any complaints.

He added that on August, 23, Arthur’s parents were given back their car the Abazovs used on the day of the abduction. On the same day they got the news that Arthur was kept in Baksan district Department of Interior Affairs were they interrogated him to find out whether he took part in an assault at the personnel of law enforcement bodies in the settlement of Islambei, Baksan district, on August, 21.

Edward Abazov states that on the day of the assault both Arthur and Murat were staying at home. He added that Murat suffered from epilepsy and Arthur had a diagnosis of epileptic syndrome with severe headaches.
