Gasan Murtuzaliev and Magomedarip Zhamalov assassinated in Dagestan
At night on August 25, law enforcement officers killed two suspected militants, who opened fire to power agents from a car in the village of Shamkhal in the outskirts of Makhachkala.
Earlier, one of the deceased men was identified as a 30-year-old Magomedarip Zhamalov. The second killed man was preliminary identified as a 52-year-old Gasan Murtuzaliev, the website of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.
There are no victims or casualties among law enforcement officers. Two submachine guns with ammunition and two bullet-proof vests, so called "unloads", were found at the place of the incident, the website of the Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.
A representative of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has reported that Magomedarip Zhamalov, who was shot dead in the shootout, headed the "Shamkhal" grouping of militants and he was on the federal wanted list.
At present, no comments of family members of the men, killed in the shootout, are available. Their position with regard to the statement of the power agents is unknown.
