"Green Party" abandons parliamentary elections in Georgia in favour of "Georgian Dream"
The oppositional "Green Party" will not participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia, since it believes that the "Georgian Dream", the oppositional coalition of businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili, has more chances to win. This was announced today by Georgy Gachechiladze, the party leader.
"The coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili has more chances to win at the elections, and no single vote should be lost. Therefore, we refused to participate in the parliamentary elections," Georgy Gachechiladze has stated.
He has also called on voters and supporters of the "Green Party" to support the block "Bidzina Ivanishvili-Georgian Dream" at the elections.
Earlier, to optimize votes, the oppositional "Democratic Movement-United Georgia", headed by Nino Burdjanadze, ex-Parliamentary Speaker, refused to participate in the elections.
