Novomikhailovsky village introduces regime of emergency after flooding
Rainfall, which caused flooding in the Tuapse District of the Krasnodar Territory, left residents of several villages without electricity. About 11,000 persons have no electricity. Three out of four victims of the flooding in the village of Novomikhailovsky have been already identified. The village of Defanovka is also in the area of the flooding.
Last night, during the rainfall, the Nechepsukho River burst its banks, and that caused flooding of the households in the village of Novomikhailovsky. According to the Southern Regional Centre of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), about 1500 persons, 600 houses, a hospital and a school are in the area of the flooding. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), four persons perished.
The press service of the administration of the Tuapse District confirmed that four persons died. At present, the body of a woman, a native of Saint Petersburg, and the bodies of two men a native of Krasnodar and one more local resident have been already identified. Till present, the body of one more victim remains unidentified, this is a man, the "Interfax-Yug" reports.
On the basis of the All-Russian Children's Centre "Orlyonok" (Eaglet), points of temporary accommodation and hot meals have been organized for 300 persons, whose houses were affected by the flooding in the village of Novomikhailovsky.
Because of the rampant disaster, it was decided to evacuate seriously ill patients from the local hospital. All of them were moved to other hospitals. First volunteers have already arrived to help the victims.
At present, staff members of the Division of the MIA in the Tuapse District go around households to identify and determine the inflicted damage of houses and to ensure protection of public order and prevent looting during the emergency occurred, the website of the Krasnodar Department of the Russian MfE reports.
