Kudepsta residents hold protest against TPP construction at Sochi Mayoralty

Today, 11 villagers of Kudepsta – opponents to building the Kudepsta Thermal Power Plant (TPP), rallied opposite the Sochi Mayoralty. They told Sochi residents about the actions of the authorities aimed, according to their version, against citizens' constitutional rights.

Each of the protesters had one letter written on his or her T-shirt. At 1 o'clock in the afternoon, they all lined up in front of the windows of the city administration and formed a "live phrase": "We are against TPP!"

"Administration officials were looking out the windows. Rather than go out and discuss the problem with us, they most probably gave an order to call the police," said Irina Sitnikova, a participant of the action.

According to Natalia Vorobyova, another picketer, policemen were soon there. "We decided not to deal with them, put clothes over out T-shirts and went home," said the woman.
