Baku: explosion in a house kills three persons

Three persons were killed and two others wounded in an explosion in the Sarukhan District of Baku, in a house, inhabited by forced migrants. A fire burst out, but was quickly eliminated.

The explosion occurred in the morning on August 17; the house of 30 square meters in 2nd Promyslovaya Street was completely destroyed.

The owner of the house Nushirevan Askerov and his two sons, Natik and Rafig, died under the ruins. His wife Sakhila Teimur gyzy Ragimova and their youngest son Ramin managed to survive. Currently, they are in hospital, in the burn centre, the "1news.az" reports with reference to the press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry for Emergencies.

According to preliminary data of the prosecutor's office, the tragedy occurred due to a gas leak. The whole family was fasting; and on the day of the tragedy they all got up before dawn to have their breakfast. The explosion occurred when one of them turned on the stove. The body of Rafig, who had recently returned from the army, was thrown away by more than 20 meters from the house by the explosion, the "vesti.az" reports.
