Massive suffocation of pig-fishes registered in Taganrog Bay

A fact of mass death of pig-fishes has been revealed in the territory of the coastline in the Gulf of Taganrog. Plenty of fishes of all ages were found on the shore.

"Today I drove to the central beach and found a heap of dead fishes. The stench is felt already on the approach to the beach. Kids are playing in sand, and it is full of dead fishes. Slightly away from the beach the shore is covered with a thick layer of fish," wrote the user miha89 in the forum taganrog.su.

As reported by the website of the administration of Taganrog, the housing and communal services of the city have organized collection and disposal of dead fish on the bay coast.

Experts of the Federal State Basin Administration (FSBA) "Azov-Don basin administration for fishery and preservation of water biological resources" took water samples from the Gulf of Taganrog in the areas of dead fish. The results of chemical analysis of water and fish will be presented after laboratory tests, the RBC reports.
