Trial on torture in Ingush MIA postponed for indefinite period

Session of the Karabulak Court on the case of torture in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia, scheduled for today, was postponed for indefinite period.

The reason, for which the today's court session was postponed, was not announced to the participants of the trial. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Toma Tsechoeva, the lawyer of victim Chitigov. "We were also not informed, when the next trial will take place. Apparently, it was postponed for the period of celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, which lasts for three days," she has added.

Prosecutor asked to sentence Guliev to 10 years of imprisonment, Nalgiev to 13 years of imprisonment in a common security penal colony. The defendants do not admit their guilt, and one of them Ilyas Nalgiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he "believes in justice." "If Russia obeys the letter of the law, I will be acquitted," he said.
