MIA: Vladimir Zhamborov, official from Kabardino-Balkaria, rejects medical treatment

Vladimir Zhamborov, the head of the administration of the leader of Kabardino-Balkaria, a figurant of the case on embezzlement of state property, strictly refused the medical examination and conducting the medical treatment. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The MIA has explained that the refusal of Vladimir Zhamborov of quality health care is treated by preliminary investigation authority "as a proof of his and his defence's intentional formation of public opinion, not corresponding to the reality, about the gravity of his health state and refusal to grant him medical care in order to change the pre-trial restriction."

At present, Vladimir Zhamborov is being kept in custody at the Federal State Institution (FSI) of the SIZO-1 (pre-trial prison) "Matrosskaya Tishina" (Sailor's Silence), where he is under constant medical supervision. According to the MIA, his health state is estimated as satisfactory.

"Health state of Vladimir Sultanovich continues to deteriorate we still cannot pass to him the necessary cardiac medications, since there is no appropriate decision of Fikret Tagiev, Chief of the SIZO," Andrei Surov, the lawyer of the person under investigation, has stressed.

All that is happening, according to Andrei Surov, because of "inexplicable obstinacy of the investigators", who in every way "ignore the willingness of the medical centre named after Bakulev to conduct surgery for Vladimir Zhamborov."
