In new school year, 48 children from Syria to attend schools in Kabardino-Balkaria
On September 1, 48 children from Syria will start attending schools of Kabardino-Balkaria. This was reported by Kamal Borchaev, Deputy Chief of the Department of Education of the city of Nalchik.
Kamal Borchaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that 42 children will attend the secondary school No. 8, located in the resort area of Dolinsk, where the majority of refugees from Syria reside in sanatoria. Three more children will attend the school No. 3, and three other children – gymnasium school No. 14. According to Kamal Borchaev, those six children know Russian language, which they learned at their homeland.
Children of Syrian refugees are of all ages. Upon consultation with their parents, they will be tested to determine the classes, to which the level of their training corresponds.
Another five Syrian children have been admitted by pre-school centres.
At present, more than 300 refugees from Syria arrived in the republic. That number of refugees totally covers the quota for temporary residence permits for foreign citizens, annually allocated by the Russian government to the republic. This was reported by Beslan Khagazheev, the member of the Board of the organization "Peryt".
