Relatives of missing Makhachkala residents prepare protest actions

Relatives of the three residents of Makhachkala, who disappeared on June 28 in Astrakhan, say that after the Ramadan they will start their protest actions "because of authorities' idleness." The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from Shamkhal Bagaudinov, the uncle of Magomed Bagaudinov, one of the missing persons.

On July 28, in Astrakhan, the following residents of Makhachkala disappeared: Faizula Magomedov, 26, Magomed Gadjiev, 28, and Magomed Bagaudinov, 30.

"After the loss of our nephew and his relatives we addressed all the authorities; however, there is no proper reaction until now. At the end of Ramadan (the ninth month of the Muslim lunar calendar, the month of fasting and spiritual and moral purification. This year, it began on July 20, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), we'll start protest actions until we learn the fate of our missing relatives. We heard rumours that they are kept by power agents in Makhachkala; while employees of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) assert that they have nobody, but we don't trust them. Recently, policemen in Leninkent shot dead – in the presence of hundreds of eyewitnesses – four young guys; and then, they began telling fairytales about their fire in response. Every day young guys are killed in our republic; it's high time to stop this outrage, it's impossible to tolerate all that," said Shamkhal Bagaudinov.

Magomedsaid Magomedov, the uncle of Faizula Magomedov, said that on June 26, his nephew drove out of Dagestan in his silver Mercedes car together with his relatives.

"They were on business in Krasnodar; and on June 28, they arrived in Astrakhan. In the evening, Faizula called his wife and said that they had arrived safely. Then he phoned his friend living in Astrakhan and said that they would soon come to him. When 10 minutes later the friend called back to Faizula, the latter's phone didn't answer. Same was with the phones of his two relatives. Since then, we know nothing about their fate," said Magomedsaid Magomedov.

In his turn, Vyacheslav Gasanov, the head of the press service of the Dagestani MIA, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he had no information about the incident.
