Dzhamal Otarsultanov from Chechnya wins gold in freestyle wrestling
The wrestler Dzhamal Otarsultanov, who is representing the Chechen Republic at the Olympic Games in London, has won the freestyle wrestling competition in the weight category of up to 55 kg.
On August 10, in the final match, Otarsultanov defeated Vladimer Khinchegashvili from Georgia, the RIA "Novosti" reports. In the first period the fight for making a catch and take the initiative took place in the centre of the wrestling mat gave no results. Otarsultanov was lucky in the draw – he took out the ball of his colour and got the right to start an attack. After seizing his rival's leg, the Russian got a winning point at the 15th second – 1:0.
In the second period, Otarsultanov held a rushing attack, but his rival in response managed to push the Russian out of the mat, and equalized the score. Then, in a mutual attack, the Georgian athlete took the lead, but in the remaining seconds Otarsultanov held an attack, which brought him the victory 4:3.
Earlier, at the stage of 1/8 finals, Dzhamal Otarsultanov defeated the wrestler from Namibia Naatele Sem Shilimela – 3:0. In the quarterfinals, his rival was Kyong II Yang from China, and in semi-finals – a serious rival – Daulet Niyazbekov from Kazakhstan, – whom he defeated confidently, the "News Life" reports.
