In Volgograd Region, governess sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment for beating child

Today, the Kotovo District Court of the Volgograd Region sentenced Oksana Levchenko, the family governess, to 4 years of imprisonment in a common security penal colony for the fact that she beat a6-year-old child, who took a candy without asking permit. This was reported by Natalia Kunitskaya, Spokesperson of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

On February 22, in the Kotovo District of the Volgograd Region, the 6-year-old child was hospitalized in an unconscious condition to the resuscitation ward of a hospital. According to investigators, the governess noted, how one of her pupils took the candies without permit, and she beat him, since he denied that fact. Only on March 7, the child was out of coma. In June, the case against Oksana Levchenko was brought to court.

The woman was found guilty of deliberate causing grievous bodily harm to a minor (Part 2, Paragraph "b" of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). She was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment to be served in a common security penal colony and 500,000 roubles of compensation for moral damage. This was reported by Natalia Kunitskaya.

According to her, the defendant was kept in custody till sentencing, and she admitted her guilt partially during the period of investigation and at the trial, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
