Hours-long delay of flight from Moscow to Makhachkala caused by aircraft failure
On August 5, the flight "Moscow-Makhachkala" of the "Utair" Airline was delayed because of an aircraft's failure. This was reported by a representative of the airline carrier. After passengers arranged a protest action, the Airline provided them with another aircraft on August 6.
The aircraft of the "Utair" Airline, the flight UT-487, was to depart from Moscow to Makhachkala on August 5, at 8:00 p.m., and to arrive in the capital of Dagestan on schedule at 10:55 of the same day. The flight was delayed. To express their protest, people refused to leave the buses, which carried them to the landing area. As a result, the aircraft departed to the capital of Dagestan on August 6, at about 3:00 p.m.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Murad Magomedov, a passenger of the delayed flight, that the passengers were accommodated at a hotel. "However, for some reason, they awake us at 7:00 a.m. and drove us to the airport. And again, the departure time was delayed all the time," Murad Magomedov says.
Only after the passengers refused to leave the buses, which carried them to the landing area, the Airline provided them with a Boeing 737 aircraft, which was supposed to depart on another flight from the "Vnukovo" Airport to Makhachkala at 12:10 a.m.
"I do not know what has happened to the passengers of that flight and whose aircraft was provided to us. We landed in Makhachkala at about 5:00 p.m.," the passenger said.
Staff members of the Moscow representative office of the Airline stated that the delay was caused by a technical failure of the aircraft.
