Defence begins presenting evidence at trial on Rasul Mirzaev's case
In the Zamoskvorechye District Court of Moscow, at the trial against sambo fighter Rasul Mirzaev, after whose punch Ivan Agafonov, a Moscow resident, died, the prosecutors have finished providing evidences of the defendant's guilt, and the defence begins to represent its evidences. The court will summon witnesses. This was stated by Alexei Grebenskoy, the lawyer of the athlete.
Alexei Grebenskoy has filed a motion on the court's assistance to summon expert Andreiko for interrogation to refine his detection of defect of medical care, rendered to Ivan Agafonov. The Court dismissed the motion for summoning the expert, and Alexei Grebenskoy responded that "the Court ceased to be objective."
The lawyer also asked to announce a break to ensure appearance of the defence witnesses. Prosecutor Yulia Zotova objected to interrupt the trial on the case; however, the defence motion was granted.
