Victim of explosion in "Bellagio" cafe in Volgograd signs settlement agreement with cafe's owner

Today, on August 7, Edita Novikova, injured in the explosion in the "Bellagio" cafe in Volgograd, signed an agreement with Andrei Koshkadaev, the owner of the cafe. The Central District Court has issued a decision approving the settlement agreement, which will enter into force in 15 days.

According to the agreement, concluded today, the defendant shall reimburse the expenses incurred for medical treatment and undertakes additional costs for compensation for moral and material damage. The parties opposed the disclosure of the amounts, designated in the agreement, and they treated that as an invasion of the victim's private life; therefore, so no journalists were allowed to attend the announcement of the court's decision.

"The parties are satisfied with the agreement both with the amounts and the terms, on which it has been signed," Irina Dobrynina, the lawyer of Edita Novikova, told "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The lawyer continued: "In any case, my client suffered serious harm, and she is to undergo a long medical treatment, including surgery, rehabilitation."
