Tbilisi: journalists hold protest outside the Ministry of Justice

Today, professionals of Georgian mass media have held a protest action "Arrested" in front of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. The protest had to do with the "Maestro" case, said the protesters.

The journalists left an inscription "Arrested" on the wall of the Ministry of Justice. This is a sort of protest against illegal, in the opinion of journalists, actions recently undertaken by the Ministry and the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO), the "Georgia Online" writes.

"Rather than promote the freedom of speech, the Ministry of Justice and the GPO act in the opposite and try to restrict the supply of alternative information to the population," said Lasha Tugushi, the editor-in-chief of newspaper "Resonansi", noting that similar protests will be held in the future.

The action was also attended by activists of some NGOs, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.
