Ten athletes of Armenian Olympic team complete their performance without winning points for their national team

10 out of 25 Armenian athletes have completed their performance at the London Olympic Games. None of them won points for their national team. The number of the defeated athletes includes two swimmers, two judokas, three weightlifters, one gymnast, one boxer, and one shooter.

"It is too early to make general assessments of performance of the Armenian athletes, since there are competitions of seven wrestlers ahead, who will compete in both freestyle and classic style," explained Sergey Mkrtchyan, the sports commentator, commenting on the results of the first week of the Olympic Games.

"Wrestlers are considered to be the main strike force of our national team, and their chances of winning are estimated as quite high," stated Sergey Mkrtchyan. He has reminded that the wrestlers will begin their competitions after August 5.

He has expressed his regret about failure of weightlifters. According to him, the National Olympic Committee had associated great hopes with Meline Daluzyan and Arakel Mirzoyan, Champions of Europe.

Karen Giloyan, the sports commentator, named the performances of Meline Daluzyan and Arakel Mirzoyan at the Olympic Games as "a fiasco". He has reminded that the national team and the leaders of the Armenian Olympic Committee considered chances of those athletes for winning medals as quite real. Meanwhile, Meline Daluzyan and Arakel Mirzoyan received zero points for their performances.
