Today, in front of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moscow, a picket was held in support of Gilal (Hilal) Mamedov, the editor-in-chief of the "Tolyshi Sado" (Voice of Talysh) and the deputy head of the Talysh Cultural Centre, who was arrested in Azerbaijan,.
The organizers have promised that the pickets in support of Hilal Mamedov will become widespread. However, the today's action, which took place in Leontyev Lane in Moscow, was not numerous: it was attended by four persons.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan did not respond to the picket. Diplomats asked supporters of Hilal Mamedov to quickly finish the picket and not to dishonour the country, the "Kommersant" reports.
On July 31, Judge Khumar Mamedova of the Nizami District refused to accept to the proceedings a complaint, filed by the lawyers of Hilal Mamedov Yalchin Imanov and Ramiz Mamedov against the unlawful actions during his detention and during the investigation. The Judge stated that the complaint of the lawyers does not meet the requirement of the Code of Criminal Procedure and refused to accept it to the proceedings, the "Turan" reports.
