"Armavia" launches additional Yerevan-Aleppo-Yerevan flight

Starting from August 1, the "Armavia" Company, the national Armenian air carrier, begins to perform additional flight to Syria. The flight is planned to be performed on Wednesdays on the airplane "Boeing", which seats 108 passengers. This was announced by the press service of the airline.

Because of the armed conflict in Syria, the Armenian Diaspora found itself in a difficult situation. On July 26, the "Armavia" Company has officially announced its willingness to open with the support of the government and the Ministry of Armenian Diaspora the second flight per week in the Syrian direction. In that event, according to the announcement, air tickets will be almost free of charge, like it was several years ago during the Lebanese events.

The Ministry of Diaspora has appealed with a letter to the "Armavia" Company and offered it to increase the number of flights to Aleppo and to revise the prices of the air tickets. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the press service of the airline. The "Armavia" Company has agreed to open an additional flight under the condition that the government will pay 100 drams (245 US dollars) for every ticket sold.

At the same time, at present, the cheapest air ticket for a flight Aleppo-Yerevan costs 117,000 drams (287 US dollars), and the most expensive one costs 192,000 drams (471 US dollars).

Regular flights are carried out on the specified route every Monday. Starting from today, the flights will be also performed on Wednesdays. The flight schedule has already indicated the dates: August 8, 15, 22, and 29.
