Human rights activist Karastelyov, Dymovskiy's defender, was beaten in Novorossisk

Today, unidentified persons attacked human rights activist Vadim Karastelyov, who represents the interests of former Major Alexei Dymovskiy. This was reported by Nikolai Ukraintsev, Vadim's advocate.

"Karastelyov was attacked in settlement Gaiduk, a suburb of Novorossisk. He was kicked and beaten with fists and sticks," said the lawyer and added that now the victim was being brought to hospital.

According to Mr Ukraintsev, the human rights activist was threatened earlier. In this context, Karastelyov had addressed the militia asking to make a check.

"My father was beaten with sticks by two unknown young guys, who hid their faces under hoods," said Alexei Karastelyov, Vadim's son, who is quoted by the "Interfax". "My traumatized father was taken by ambulance to the first city hospital of Novorossisk." According to his version, now one of the suspects of beating the human rights activist was detained, as the "Gazeta.Ru" notes.

On February 26, Karastelyov was released from custody. The human rights activist had spent 7 days in the investigatory insulator after detention by the militia, when he disseminated leaflets with an appeal to come to a rally in support of Dymovskiy.
