After publications about Dymovskiy, custody conditions in Krasnodar SIZO became better

The UVD of Novorossisk and SIZO (pre-trial facility) of Krasnodar are thoroughly studying the publications in mass media about Militia Major Alexei Dymovskiy; the latter entity is even printing out them and takes measures to improve the custody conditions of detainees there. This was reported by Vadim Karastelyov, an expert of the Novorossisk Committee of Human Rights (NCHR) and Alexei Dymovskiy's official representative.

"At SIZO, they read everything. They literally make printouts of information items about Dymovskiy, and later take measures on them to improve the custody conditions of Dymovskiy. We are re-broadcasting the stories about Dymovskiy from the 'Caucasian Knot' to his website. They study everything in detail. I also saw printouts of the 'Caucasian Knot' at militia bosses and city ataman," Mr Karastelyov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He has noted that on February 9 Dymovskiy was visited by his lawyer Nikolai Ukraintsev. "Alexei is in fine fettle and goes in for sports. After the publication on your website, the administration of the SIZO repaired a toilet bowl and equipped the cell with household tools - a basin, a bucket and a scoop. Radio now works till 7:00 p.m.," said Karastelyov.

He has also noted that information from Alexei Dymovskiy himself appears in his website on a regular basis. "When information about what happens in SIZO began appearing there, many inmates saw improvement of custody conditions, since the number of inspections rapidly went up: from higher bodies, by human rights activists, the Children's Ombudsman in the Krasnodar Territory, but in fact less than a month has expired. No operative agents come to his cell, improvements were made in it, and tools were added," said the human rights activist.

On February 8, a daughter was born into Dymovskiy's family. His wife Olesya is still in hospital; both the mother and the newborn feel well. Karastelyov said that money are raised for them.
