Inspectors interrogate Gannushkina on Orlov's case

At her last interrogation at the inquiry division of the Investigatory Department of the Moscow GUVD (Chief City Interior Administration), Svetlana Gannushkina, head of the Committee "Civil Assistance", said that she agreed with every word of Oleg Orlov, head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", who had imposed the political responsibility for the death of the human rights defender Natalia Estemirova on Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov. Svetlana Gannushkina herself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it.

"I was interrogated at the inquiry division of the Moscow Investigatory Department at No. 45 Novoslobodskaya Street. It happened already for the second time on Oleg Orlov's slander case, since it is considered for the second time already. They don't accuse me, but I was the witness of what happened with Natasha Estemirova. I was asked about her last days and what exactly irritated the authorities in her behaviour - it is all relevant for the case. In fact, slander is considered. I told about what I personally know, to what I personally was a witness and about what Natasha told be about her meeting on March 31 last year with Ramzan Kadyrov," said Svetlana Gannushkina.

According to her story, inspectors asked her "general questions", and the first one was: "Do you agree with Oleg Orlov?"

"I emphasized for several times to them that we absolutely agree and are in solidarity with him, because it is reasonable and justified," said the human rights advocate.

In her opinion, the justification is in the fact that "firstly, Ramzan Kadyrov is President of the Chechen Republic, and he's permanently repeating that he controls the situation; that is why he's in charge of it," Svetlana believes.

"Eventually, Ramzan Kadyrov and his retinue repeatedly gave interviews, in which they stated that they killed, that it was necessary to kill and that it was necessary to order to kill; and never either Kadyrov or Delimkhanov (Adam Delimkhanov - Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Chechen Republic and closest Ramzan Kadyrov's associate, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot") ever refuted these statements," Svetlana Gannushkina has emphasizes.
