Head of HRC "Memorial" not to challenge criminal case opened against him
Advocate Genry Reznik, who is representing the interests of Oleg Orlov, head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", finds it senseless to appeal against the decision of the Moscow GUVD (City Interior Department) to initiate a criminal case against his client on slander under the claim of President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov.
"Initially, the inquiry division of the GUVD refused to open a case; then, the case was initiated under the initiative of the prosecutor's office, which cancelled the GUVD's refusal. Therefore, it's absolutely senseless to complain to the prosecutor's office against itself," Mr Reznik has explained in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Oleg Orlov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he would follow the recommendations of his advocate.
