Roza Malsagova: militants accuse "Ingushetia.Org" of fighting Mujahidins

Roza Malsagova, chief editor of the site "Ingishetia. Org", who has been living in Paris from 2008, says that she resigns in connection with threats coming from militants to her address.

This decision has been made after "The address of Mujahidins to Roza Mulsagova" appeared on the militants' site Khunafa.Сom. The militants' site runs that, earlier, the site "Ingushetia.Ru" was "an unfailing helper of Muslims, its materials helped many people by the will of Allah, there were great successes and achievements". But now, in the view of the militants, while trying to look independent, "the site which used to be in opposition, has become governmental".

Roza Malsagova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about her decision to resign from the site leadership. "I think that the address by the superior command of the emirate is fraught with consequences. We are accustomed to deaths of journalists who criticize authorities, now it seems that the opponent side is after them. My decision is not so much linked with my own safety. But I have three sons and if I am killed it will not bring them any good", said Roza Malsagova.

According to her, different letters arrive to her mailbox, including letters from militants. "I was even ready to allocate them some space, but under the condition to prove their point of view and learn to conduct a discussion", said our interlocutor.

Talking about the dissatisfaction of militants by the fact that the site contains some positive materials about Ingushetia president Yunus-Bek Evkurov, our interlocutor notes that even criminals are given a chance to try and change something. At the same time, she continues, Evkurov has started a dialogue with people, he tried to prevent killings, he has brought peace to many families. "I should like to understand, what is bad about this? And what is bad in this for the militants. Evkurov has started a dialogue with militants, too", stresses Roza Malsagova.

However, she notes that she, as a citizen, has some claims to Evkurov because he invited "Kadyrov supporters" to Ingushetia. "I was the first to write about this", states Roza Malsagova.

Answering the question about the recent material on the site about the kidnapping and arbitrary execution of Batyr Albakov in Ingushetia, Malsagova has confirmed that she prepared the material.

She does not know if the site will continue work without her. "So far, the site has kept silent for five days. Yesterday my colleagues resumed publications. But now I am expecting a lawyer and will make decisions on other issues with him", concludes Roza Malsagova.
