Rosa Malsagova stops editing "Ingushetia.Org" because of threats

The editor-in-chief of the Internet resource "Ingushetia.Org" Rosa Malsagova has stated that she is receiving threats and can leave her post.

Recently, the website "Ingushetia.Org" has been working with great irregularities, since active DDOS-attacks continue against it and some other Ingush sites; the responsibility for these attacks was taken by a group of hackers, who support rebels of Northern Caucasus.

Rosa Malsagova said today on air of the "Echo Moskvy" Radio about the threats that she receives. According to her story, the website "Hunafa.Сom" has published the "Address of the Supreme Command" of the so-called Jama'at. The document quoted by the "Ingushetia.Org" in its LJ tape runs that Malsagova was engaged in "provocative and propaganda" activities, and she will be considered by Shariat Court. She was also accused of active and "enthusiastic" coverage of the policy of the new President of Ingushetia Evkurov.

"Except for covering the political and economic situation in the region, I did nothing more, since I have no right, as a website manager, to express my personal opinion: I just stated facts," Ms Malsagova has noted.

According to her story, on the one hand, it does not please the authorities, and on the other hand, the site and she personally are under tough attacks of underground formations.

Rosa Malsagova said that she had already contacted her advocate; and she needs some time to discuss the situation and make a final decision.

Meanwhile, a today's message placed by the site "Ingushetia.Org" treats Rosa Malsagova's decision to give up her further work for the portal because of threats as an accomplished fact. The editorial board expresses their complete understanding of the decision of the editor-in-chief.

"Rosa has the right to make any decision for the sake of her life and lives of her children. However, nobody can doubt the courage and boldness of this woman. In the recent years Rosa Malsagova has been telling the truth about the lawlessness that reigned in the republic and partly continues today. Then, militants were supporting her. Now, when something has started to change for the better, not to the benefit of the latter, Rosa has become 'Janus-faced'," runs the message of the site, where its employees emphasize that they will take any Malsagova's decision as the correct one.

For a while, until a new editor-in-chief is appointed, the portal plans to continue its work under direction of the board of correspondents.
