MoD of South Ossetia will not take part in "Kavkaz-2009"
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of South Ossetia will not take part in the military exercises "Kavkaz-2009", held now in a number of regions of Southern Russia. The Caucasian Knot correspondent has learnt about it from Eduard Gabaraev, Chief of Artillery of the Ministry of Defence.
"We have absolutely nothing to do with these exercises. However, we hold our own exercises in our gunnery range on a regular basis. They will start soon, we can't say precisely when," said Mr Gabaraev.
On July 1, the head of the Ministry of Defence of South Ossetia said, at the conference held within the limits of exercises "Kavkaz-2009", dedicated on the totals and lessons of the war of August 2008, that the republic would take part in the exercises.
