Court rejects Nemtsov's claim on cancelling Sochi Mayor election outcomes

Today, the Tsentralny District Court of Sochi has refused to satisfy the claim lodged by politician Boris Nemtsov, who demanded to cancel the outcomes of electing the Mayor of Sochi, which took place on April 26.

"Boris Nemtsov's claim is rejected," Judge Anna Afonkina has announced at the trial, having added that announcement of the statement of reasons will take place on June 29.

In his claim Mr Nemtsov stated numerous facts of violating the electoral legislation. During the trial Nemtsov's advocate presented two witnesses who worked as observers on the voting day. They spoke about violations admitted at polling stations; however, the court did not find their arguments convincing, as reported by the "Newsru.com".

The today's decision of the court did not satisfy the claimant's party. Alexander Glushenkov, who represented Nemtsov's interests at the trial, has stated that this judicial decision will be appealed against at the Krasnodar Territorial Court. The "Interfax-South" writes that Mr Glushenkov has also noted that the claimant had presented all his arguments and reasons at the trial.
