Advocate Brun Risnes: Khalidov was behind Chechens' attack on Kurds in Norway
Ruslan Khalidov, who returned from Norway to Chechnya and publicly renounced his earlier accusations against President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov of preparing murders of Chechens abroad, could be the organizer of Chechnya natives on the camp of Kurdish refugees in Norway in July 2008. Norwegian advocate Brun Risnes told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it.
"Nobody can understand what Khalidov's role could be in that attack on Kurdish refugees. But many people evidence that he had played the role of the organizer of the attack. And then, as it's already known, he evidenced to the police as a witness," said Mr Risnes.
We remind you that on July 23-24, 2008, at least 23 residents of the refugees' camp Nordbibroiten in the Norwegian city of Ostfold received traumas as a result of an attack on the camp committed by a group of 40-50 persons; the incident was reported by Norwegian officials on air of the state radio NRK.
Brinyulf Pisen, advocate of the defendants, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the fight had burst on the vengeance pretext. Shortly before that, the first fight took place in the temporary refugees' camp; it remained unnoticed by the publicKurds attacked Chechens, and two women seriously suffered, while the third one received bruises. Human rights activist and psychologist Zoya Grannez said that the police had ignored the situation, and Chechens then decided "to restore justice" by themselves.
Ruslan Khalidov was the main witness on so-called "Nordbibroiten case". But, as Norwegian lawyers assert, he gave contradictory evidences to local police.
In his last statement from Chechnya made on June 16 Khalidov actually confirmed that he had been an agent of special agencies of Norway; and he had a special pager ("button") to call the police. He had stated earlier in media and to the police that every Chechen family had firearms, and that a member of the Chechen Diaspora has ordered to chop off his arms and legs, and to cut off his tongue for denunciations. Besides, Khalidov accused many innocent young men of attacking the Nordbibroiten camp.
