Stavropol Territory: nationalists who beat Georgievsk residents detained
In the city of Georgievsk, Stavropol Territory, a group of youngsters accused of hooliganism with use of objects as arms were detained. In the evening on June 3, some fifteen guys aged 17-20, armed with tire irons and reinforcing bars went out into streets with nationalist slogans and beat several persons.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press service of the UVD (Department of Internal Affairs) of the city of Caucasian Mineral Waters (CMW) that their first victim was a pupil of a technical school of 20, an Armenian national, who walked with his girlfriend. He was beaten with bars and kicked. Having gone hog-wild, the hooligans moved further and attacked two Russian guys who were just sitting in a cafe near a shop.
One of these victims named Vitaly said that a crowd was passing by with cries "For Russia!": "I turned my head and saw a bar thrown at us; the youngsters were shouting 'Beat non-Russians!'. We jumped up, and I cried out that we're Russians, but this made no effect."
Militiamen detained a certain Tskhofrebov, who proved to be, as reported by the press service of the CMW's UVD, not only the ideological inspirer of that young gang, but also earlier - a confidant of Vasily Sivolotskiy, an active member of an organized criminal grouping named 'Sprut" (Octopus), also known by nickname "Sivy" (Gray), killed in a criminal showdown last November.
In the course of searches of the detainees, militiamen confiscated literature, CDs with extremist video and photo information, leaflets of the RNU (Russian National Unity), albums with fascist symbols, cold guns and firearms.
Not far from the shop, where the beating took place, operatives found a bottle with incendiary liquid and inscription "National Slavic Front for Liberating Russia". It was found out during the inquiry that the bottle was made by one of the detainees; it was intended for setting cars on fire.
