Chechnya's MIA reports detention of woman-militant

In the Grozny District of Chechnya, power agents have detained a woman, a suspected member of an illegal armed formation (IAF). Local law enforcers think that last autumn for a short period of time she was with one of militants' groupings.

A source in the interior bodies said: "On June 4, in Prigorodnoe village, Grozny District (located a couple of kilometres to the south from Grozny suburb, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot"), in the course of operative-search actions, law enforcers detained a local woman. She is suspected of mingling in illegal bands. According to our operative information, in last October-November the detained woman was in the gang under command of an Arabian mercenary named Yasir. Now, inspectors are interrogating her. Should her involvement in an IAF be proved, she will get a prison term."
