Interior Minister of Dagestan buried in his native village

Adilgerei Magomedtagirov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, assassinated today in Makhachkala, was buried according to Islamic rites into the cemetery of Gonoda village in the Gunib District.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already reported that Mr Magomedtagirov was killed today near the banquet hall "Marrakesh" in Makhachkala, where he was taking part in a wedding party. At the attempt on the Minister, Abdurazak Abakarov, head of the MIA's logistic unit, was also murdered.

The "Interfax" writes that according to the Islamic tradition Adilgerei Magomedtagirov was buried today in his family village. Because of the tragedy, the celebrations in the context of anniversary of the district planned for tomorrow were cancelled.

According to Magomed Omarov, chief physician of the national orthopaedic and traumatology centre, where the Minister died, General-Lieutenant Magomedtagirov was brought there with numerous through gunshot wounds in the condition of clinical death.

Attempts on Adilgerei Magomedtagirov were committed earlier. Thus, an attempt was undertaken on February 3, 2007, in Makhachkala, when the Minister went to the place where militia captain Maksud Magomedov was killed. Another attempt on Magomedtagirov dates back to August 2, 2006, when he went to the place where Bitar Bitarov, public prosecutor of the city of Buinaksk was assassinated.
