In Moscow, South-Ossetian picketers detained

Today in the morning, members of the People's Party of South Ossetia, headed by Roland Kelekhsaev, held a picket "against antidemocratic policy of South-Ossetian authorities" near the building of State Duma in Moscow.

The picketers - over 100 of them came - stood with posters "No to changes in the Constitution", "No to state banditism in South Ossetia", "Humanitarian aid to people, not to Kokoity clan".

The picket was not sanctioned by city authorities; therefore, militiamen appeared and detained about 15 persons. According to Alan Gassiev, one of the picketers and a member of the Political Board of the "People's Party", militiamen were extremely polite with the picketers.

"I spoke with the detainees, and, as they said, militiamen are treating them with understanding and even sympathy," said Mr Gassiev.

They promise to release all the detainees within the day.

According to Alan Gassiev, the picket was not sanctioned for the guilt of the organizers who were late with submitting an application.

"The aim of our picket was to vice protest against Kokoity's authoritative policy in relation to holding antidemocratic elections in South Ossetia. And this aim was reached," Mr Gassiev has concluded.
