Emil Adelkhanov: 10,000 come to rally in Georgia

Today, the opposition rally in Georgia attracted "about ten thousand persons: this is the capacity of the square in front of the Government Palace in Tbilisi; it is all packed by people, and the crowd does not decrease," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent quotes his contact - Emil Adelkhanov, member of the Board of the NGO "Caucasian Institute", who is in the place of events.

The main demand of the opposition - snap presidential and parliamentary elections.

For the last three hours, the television is showing the rally with small breaks on the comments of the party in power. "The comments are short and mean nothing. Saakashvili didn't appear, Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava and several MPs spoke. Ugulava uttered common phrases: 'Events on November 7 last year showed a need of dialogue'," said Mr Adelkhanov.

"A slogan caught my eye at the rally: 'Stop, Russia, Stop, Misha!' However, little was said about Russia, more about Saakashvili," he has added.

According to his information, Georgiy Tsagareishvili, leader of the Movement "For United Georgia", has expressed at the rally his intention to found a new entity - Democratic Party.
