Dagestan: two powerful bombs detected in the place of special operation in Khasavyurt

On September 4, in the area, where a special operation against militants was held in the city of Khasavyurt, Dagestan, two powerful self-made explosives were found, which were blown up in situ, a source in law enforcement bodies has reported today.

The bombs in the form of metal cylinders having diameter of 150 mm and 400 mm long were detected in the course of additional inspection of the incident in a private household. The bombs were stuffed with a mix of aluminium powder and ammonium nitrate with strike elements in the form of bolts and nuts and had explosion power of 5 kg in trotyl equivalent each. According to the source, the explosives were blown up in situ, the "Interfax" reports.

The press release of the FSB Department for the Republic of Dagestan, which is quoted by the RIA "Novosti", runs that the militants liquidated in the course of the special operation, headed the so-called "Khasavyurt underground" and were organizers of the channels of financial and material support directed from international terrorist organizations to illegal armed formations (IAFs) in Northern Caucasus. On the night of September 5, they planned to commit a resonant terror act in Khasavyurt.

According to the FSB (Federal Security Bureau) Department, the assassinated militants were searched for participation in the organization and accomplishment of numerous acts of terror, attempts on life of employees of law enforcement bodies, militaries of Russian Ministry of Defence, and for others heavy and especially grave crimes.
