Moscow-Baku train late in Makhachkala because of Dagestanians' picket

Today, the Moscow-Baku train was 45 minutes late in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, because it was stopped at the Kizlyar station by residents of the village of Kachalay, who demanded from law enforcement bodies to take active steps in searching their fellow villager kidnapped yesterday.

Ramazan Magomedov, 22, a native of Kachalay village, was kidnapped on July 6 in Kizlyar. Four unknown persons in masks arrived in two cars, caught him, put in one of the cars and drove away in unknown direction.

Ramazan's father who tried to interfere got a gunshot wound of his leg. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan has informed that the personalities of three out of the four attackers had been established; now they are searched. Nothing is known so far about the aim of kidnapping and the fate of the victim.

About 300 residents of Kachalay village took part in today's picket, which blocked the "Kavkaz" Federal Highway and North-Caucasian Railway.

The "Interfax" was told at the on duty unit of the Babayurt ROVD (District Interior Department) that Abedin Karchigaev, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, went to the place of the incident to meet the picketers. After meeting the official, the rally dispersed.
