Tuapse resident tries to burn himself in protest against eviction

In Krasnodar Krai, Anatoli Malyshev, resident of Tuapse, tried to burn himself in protest against his family eviction from the dormitory.

Ashot Khanikerian, eye-witness of the accident, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that, when court bailiffs came into the dormitory room where Anatoli Malyshev lived, Malyshev came out into the yard, poured fuel on himself and, returning back into the room, tried to burn himself.

According to the eye-witness, the court bailiffs in masks and bullet-proof vests threw Anatoli Malyshev on the floor, handcuffed him, beat him and then strangled him until he became blue. Anatoli Malyshev is now in hospital with a heart attack.

The arrival of court bailiffs to Anatoli's place was connected with the fact that today the time limit given to the Malyshev family for leaving the dormitory expires. The respective judgment was passed previously by the Tuapse town court. Anatoli Malyshev considers this decision unjust.

According to a stamp in his passport, Anatoli is registered as resident of Tuapse dormitory at 25, Zvezdnaya Street from May 26, 1999.

Until 2000, the six-storey building of the dormitory was on the balance sheet of the local vocational school No 29. However, early in 2000's, school No 29 became the Tuapse branch of Kuban State Technological University. The new management applied to court for eviction of residents from the dormitory.
