New rally in Ingushetia to be held on February 23
A decision was made in Nazran (Ingushetia) at an extraordinary sitting of the Organizing Committee of the nationwide rally, where Maksharip Aushev, Magomed Evloev and other opposition leaders were present, to hold another rally on February 23.
In this case, the organizers of the rally decided to send a notification not only to the administration of Nazran, but also in the Government of Republic Ingushetia, the web portal "Ingushetia.Ru" reports.
It was stated at the sitting that the organizers have timely managed to stop the protest action, as the authorities already started using force against the protesters and organizing provocations with setting of official buildings on fire aiming to lay the blame on the participants of the rally.
"The main thing is that we managed to wake up the people, today, even militiamen stood against corruption and Zyazikov and supported us," Maksharip Aushev said.
Meanwhile, the "Echo Moskvy" Radio informs that its journalists - Vladimir Varfolomeyev and Roman Plyusov - are kept in custody for more than seven hours already by employees of Nazran GUVD (Municipal Interior Department). They send SMS messages running that they are still interrogated as witnesses of today's mass disorders in Nazran. The journalists do not exclude that soon they can be deported outside Ingushetia.
Also, until now, Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya and Timur Akiev, employees of the Human Rights Centre "Memorial", who were beaten in the course of the rally of the opposition, are kept at the GUVD. According to their colleagues, advocates are not admitted to the detainees.
