Ingushetia: 54.5% of voters assert their non-participation in elections on December 2

As of 9:00 p.m. on January 9, 2008, a total of 87,340 applications were gathered under the action "I did not vote!" filed by the residents of Ingushetia aged 18 and up who stated that they had not gone to vote on December 2, 2007, at the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Thus, the non-participation applications have been signed by 54.5 percent of the voters of Ingushetia, which allows concluding the rough falsification of the totals by the Electoral Commission of Ingushetia, which announced that over 98 percent of all potential voters had taken part in the elections, the "Ingushetia.Ru" website writes. The verification groups have not yet visited 24 dwelling settlements of the Republic.

The participants of the action note that in the process of verification and receipt of signed applications, the residents of the Republic explained their non-appearance at polling stations by their discontent with the policy of Murat Zyazikov in his position of the President of the Republic, with corruption and chaos in the economy in the Republic.

Currently, 290 volumes with the collected applications of residents of Ingushetia have been sent to Moscow to one of law firms; these volumes will be attached to the general application to the name of the General Public Prosecutor of Russia asking to check the fact of falsifications in the process of voting in Ingushetia and to find out whether the applicants had been registered among those who had received ballot papers and voted at elections on December 2, 2007.
