Trial appointed on organizers of explosion in Cherkizovo marketplace in Moscow

On December 19, the Moscow City Court will start a trial on the criminal case about the explosion committed in the Cherkizovo marketplace in Moscow on August 21, 2006, which had killed, by different sources from 11 up to 14 persons. This information was given by Anna Usachova, head of the press service of the Court.

"Next Wednesday, the preliminary hearing will take place, which, according to the law, will be held in the closed mode," Ms Usachova said.

According to advocate Dmitri Bakharev who is representing the interests of one of the defendants, "the process will be held with a jury, which was demanded by all the defendants back at the stage of preliminary investigation," the ITAR-TASS reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that Nikolai Korolyov, leader of the criminal community and a figurant in the Cherkizovo explosion case, is accused of committing nine terror acts.

We remind you that the explosion in the marketplace thundered on August 21 in a two-level trading pavilion named "Eurasia". The power of the case-free explosion device was over 1 kilo in trotyl equivalent. As a result of the explosion, by different sources, from 11 to 14 persons were lost, including two children. 55 visitors and employees of the marketplace were injured.
